Gerontologist Eileen Reilly says this is a tough decision. She must decide when to be a little more forceful in helping a person understand their diagnosis so they can get the treatment they need.

But she has a note of caution. "There is a very fine line between intervening in someone's life for their own good and allowing them to continue to exert power over their situations and being allowed to be at risk."
