NanoExplorers: A High School Summer STEM
Academy

NanoExplorers Summer Science Academy offers high
school students an opportunity to explore chemistry and physics at
the nano-level. High school students with an interest in chemistry
and/or physics and who aspire to a career in a STEM field are
invited to apply for NanoExplorers Summer Science Academy. The
residential summer science academy will take place from June 14-19
and 21-26, 2026. Participants will engage in hands-on activities
designed to introduce the concept of nanotechnology. Activities
will include applications in both chemistry and physics as well as
information about career opportunities related to nanotechnology.
All project supplies and equipment, instruction by CU faculty,
meals, housing and transportation to scheduled activities will be
provided. NanoExplorers is funded through a grant from the Oklahoma
State Regents for Higher Education. The program is limited to 28
participants and is offered at no charge. Applicants must be an
incoming freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in high school and
must be an Oklahoma resident. Registration opens on March 1 and
closes on April 15.

Molecules of Nature
East Central University

Have you ever wondered how bread rises, your body
relaxes, or how sunscreen protects you from the sun? The answer is
chemistry! Learn more about the fascinating world of molecules and
chemistry at East Central University's Molecules of Nature Summer
Academy. This residential camp is designed for 8th and 9th graders
and will be held on ECU's campus in Ada, May 31-June 5, 2026.
Through hands-on exploration, students will synthesize molecules
that are important in fields such as medicine, food processing and
agriculture. Students will be immersed in the college experience,
gaining knowledge of high-tech laboratory equipment and safety.
Students will also enjoy a field trip to the Chickasaw National
Recreation Area and leave the camp understanding how to pursue

The WORLD of STEM

The WORLD of STEM invites 8th and 9th graders to dive
into an exciting adventure where science, technology, engineering,
and math come alive through hands-on activities and real-world
challenges. From building and testing creative designs to exploring
how STEM shapes our everyday lives, students will discover the
power of innovation, problem-solving, and teamwork. This camp isn't
just about learning-it's about experiencing the wonder of STEM in
action and seeing how it connects to the world around us, opening
doors to future possibilities and inspiring the next generation of
thinkers and creators. The camp is a five-day program running from
8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. It is completely free and designed
to be inclusive and welcoming to students from all backgrounds.

Camp Biomed: A Glowing Overview

What happens when you cross a jellyfish with bacteria? Find out at
Camp Biomed, a STEM-based Summer Academy held at NSU's Broken Arrow
Campus from June 22nd to June 26th, 2026. Participants will learn
about microbiology and molecular biology and how these sciences
overlap by creating bioluminescent bacterium through cutting-edge
experiments. We will also tour facilities in Tulsa to learn about
the latest science investigations. Participants will understand the
science that drives experiments, learn to interpret outcomes, and,
most importantly, have lots of fun!!

DroneXperience

Northeastern State University (NSU) is launching the
DroneXperience (DroneX) Summer Academy from July 20th to 24th,
2026, on the NSU Tahlequah campus in Tahlequah, OK. This hands-on
program offers 8th to 12th-grade students the chance to understand,
care for, and pilot their own drones while exploring exciting STEM
career possibilities. DroneX aims to become a hub for learning,
research, and innovation in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), or
drones. The academy is free and inclusive, welcoming students from
diverse backgrounds and economic households, including those from
public, private, and homeschool settings. The program runs for five
days, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexible drop-off and

Get Green for Blue: Outdoor STEM Investigations
Connecting Water to You!

Working in teams, participants learn about water quality through
collecting and analyzing data and determining possible solutions to
water quality problems. This is a very active academy with many
opportunities to engage in indoor and outdoor activities, including
field trips. This STEM Summer Academy, funded by the Oklahoma State
Regents, is open to students entering 8th - 10th grades. The time
frame is from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and accommodations will be made
for those who need different drop-off and/or pickup times.

Robotics Summer Academy on June 8-12, 2026 (9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
each day), on the Tahlequah campus. This is a hands-on STEM
program, open to 8th to 12th grade students in Oklahoma. Students
will design, build, code and test robotic vehicles as smart systems
to accomplish various tasks (e.g., "Pizza Delivery", basketball
shooting, etc.), and tour FlightSafety Simulation at Broken Arrow
to further make community connections with higher education and

Exploring Renewable Energy - A Summer STEM Camp: This
STEM camp engages students in hands-on learning with experts in
higher-education and professionals in the field of renewable
energy. Students entering grades 9-12 are eligible to apply.
Students will get an inside view of an operating nacelle,
experience with simulators and a climbing tower, and see an
operational wind turbine and solar field. Students will learn about
the generation of electricity, get an introduction to electronics
and robotics, and have hands-on experiences with the Renewable
Energy Trainer, a training device that includes power generation,
micro-inverter, storage and renewable energy

The School of Engineering at the University of
Central Oklahoma will host the UCO Explore Engineering Summer
Academy, featuring two separate five-day, non-residential sessions
filled with hands-on activities and science-based projects. The
academy is designed for students entering grades 8 through 10 in
the upcoming school year.
The program aims to nurture participants' critical-thinking
skills, promote diversity, foster a positive and collaborative team
environment, and inspire creativity and imagination. Working in
teams, students will design, build, test, and refine their
creations while competing in a variety of engineering challenges.
Project areas will include aerodynamics, steam power, 3D printing,
structural integrity, and mechatronics.
Teams will be guided by UCO engineering students, with faculty

2026 Cryptography Summer Academy

The University of Tulsa will hold its cryptography
academy this summer for students who enjoy solving puzzles and
finding solutions to engineering challenges. Students will use
encryption techniques, solve and create math challenges, and design
escape rooms. Escape games, recreation, and field trips will occur
daily. Students will decipher clues, solve problems and participate
in escape games while touring Tulsa's underground tunnel system,
The Gathering Place, the Tulsa Zoo, the 11th Street Enigma and the
Central Library. This program is hands-on and activity-based with a
focus on small group projects designed to challenge the mind and
enlighten the curious.
