The Human Water Cycle

We cannot live without clean water. Do you know where your water comes from or where it goes when you flush? Do you know what it takes to make it safe for you to drink and safe (again) for fish to live in? In this academy, we will explore the human-side of the water cycle by collecting water samples, working in the lab, visiting water facilities, flying drones, and competing in a water engineering challenge. Get ready to do some real science! Students entering grades 8-12 please join us as we take a deep dive into the Human Water Cycle. This commuter academy runs 8 AM to 5 PM, Mon-Thur. Lunch and snacks provided. Drop off starts at 7:30 AM and pick up by 5:30 PM.

Molecules of Nature Summer Academy

For rising 8th and 9th graders. Have you ever wondered how bread rises, your body relaxes, or how sunscreen protects you from the sun? The answer is chemistry! Learn more about the fascinating world of molecules and chemistry at East Central University's the Molecules of Nature Summer Academy. This residential camp is designed for 8th and 9th graders and will be held on ECU's campus in Ada from June 1 to June 6, 2025. Through hands-on exploration, students will synthesize molecules that are important in fields such as medicine, food processing and agriculture. Students will be immersed in the college experience, gaining knowledge of high-tech laboratory equipment and safety. Participants will also enjoy field trips to the Robert S. Kerr Environmental Research Center and the Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Participants will leave the camp understanding how to pursue numerous STEM degrees. Go to ecok.edu/moleculesofnature.

Murray State STEM Deep Dive '25

Come and embark on an exciting journey into the world of STEM. Through hands-on projects and interactive activities, students will explore engineering principles, problem-solving techniques, and creative design processes. The camp fosters teamwork and critical thinking as students tackle challenges and create innovative solutions. By the end of the program, participants will have a deeper understanding of STEM concepts and practical experience in designing and building their own projects.

Camp Biomed: A Glowing Overview

What happens when you cross a jellyfish with bacteria? Find out at Camp Biomed, a STEM-based Summer Academy held at NSU's Broken Arrow Campus from June 23rd to June 27th, 2025. Participants will learn about microbiology and molecular biology and how these sciences overlap by creating bioluminescent bacterium through cutting-edge experiments. We will also tour facilities in Tulsa to learn about the latest science investigations. Participants will understand the science that drives experiments, learn to interpret outcomes, and, most importantly, have lots of fun!! Students can be dropped off between 8:45-9:00 am and picked up between 4:00-4:15 pm.

DroneXperience Summer Academy

Northeastern State University is providing a Summer 2025 Drone Academy (July 21 - 25 Tahlequah campus) called DroneXperience Summer Academy in response to the growing and expanding drone industry. This is a day camp no overnight accomodations are being made. This hands-on program offers 8th to 12th-grade students the chance to construct and pilot their own drones while exploring exciting STEM career possibilities. DroneX aims to become a hub for learning, research, and innovation in Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), or drones. The academy is free and inclusive, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds and economic households, including those from public, private, and homeschool settings.

The program runs for five days, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with flexible drop-off and pick-up options to accommodate participants and their families. This Academy will become a place of learning, research and achievement for the advancement of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS), commonly referred to as drones. In the effort to promote STEM education the academy features academic classes, training seminars, and recreational activities like Fly Days and photography opportunities. The Drone Academy provides theoretical and applied learning for the technological and operational aspects of the industry. Instructors are from area Tech institutions and area Police agencies. The Academy is free and open to all students attending public, private and home school students of various backgrounds and cultural identity from various economic backgrounds.

Get Green for Blue: Outdoor STEM Investigations Connection Water to You!

Put on your waders, grab your net, and let's catch those critters! Working in teams, participants learn about water quality through collecting and analyzing data and determining possible solutions to water quality problems. This STEM Summer Academy, funded by the Oklahoma State Regents, is open to students entering 8th - 10th grades. The time frame is from 9:00-4:00 and accommodations will be made for those who need different drop-off and/or pickup times. Participants will receive a leather-bound journal and stereoscope for further investigations.

Robotics for Young Scientists and Engineers

Northeastern State University is launching the Robotics Summer Academy on June 9-13, 2025 (9:00AM - 4:00PM each day), on the Tahlequah campus. This is a hands-on STEM program, open to 8th to 12th-grade students in Oklahoma. Students will design, build, code and test robotic vehicles as smart systems to accomplish various tasks (e.g., "Pizza Delivery", "basketball shooting", etc.), and tour FlightSafety Simulation at Broken Arrow to further make community connections with higher education experience and industry. The Academy is free and inclusive, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds. Early drop-off and late pick-up accommodations are available.

Emerging and Converging Technologies Summer Academy

Students will apply math and science skills while participating in hands-on lab exercises in at least seven programs offered at OSUIT. Participants will have the opportunity to go "on the job" with programs such as Culinary Arts, Engineering Technologies, Creative Technologies, and Nursing and work alongside students and student interns. In addition, students will experience college life in the dorms. Students will participate in many fun-filled evening activities and an industry tour and investigate the undeniable claim that a college degree will take students where they want to go.

A Hands-On Program in Mathematics and Science

The ORU Academy, A Hands-On Program in Mathematics and Science, June 9 - 13 and August 16 (Grades 8-9), provides opportunities for developing mathematics, and science skills. Mathematical activities include code-breaking cryptology and fractal pattern recognition. Science experiences include field trips, real-world technologies, quadcopters, robotics, rocketry, and laboratory work where students seek to understand the natural world. Participants integrate mathematics and science experiences using problem-solving ideas and project-based learning.

PI-STEM Summer Academy

UCO Explore Engineering Summer Academy

The School of Engineering at the University of Central Oklahoma will offer the "UCO Explore Engineering Summer Academy," two separate 5-day, non-residential sessions of hands-on activities and science projects. The academy will be geared toward students who will be entering grades 8 through 10 in the next school year. The main objectives are nurturing participants critical thinking skills, promoting diversity and constructive team climate while stimulating creativity and imagination. Attendees will work in teams to design, build, test, and improve upon their projects to compete with others in a series of design projects in fields of aerodynamics, steam power, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and 3D-Printing, Structural integrity, and Mechatronics. UCO engineering students will guide each team, while faculty members serve as instructors.

2025 Cryptography Summer Academy

The University of Tulsa will hold its cryptography academy this summer for students who enjoy solving puzzles and finding solutions to engineering challenges. Students will use encryption techniques, solve and create math challenges, and design escape rooms. Escape games, recreation, and field trips will occur daily. Students will decipher clues, identify and solve riddles, and participate in escape games while exploring the City of Tulsa on excursions and field missions. This program is hands-on and activity-based with a focus on small group projects designed to challenge the mind and enlighten the curious.
