Insider Info

Additional Information

People who become production supervisors are generally high school graduates who have some post-secondary education related to the field they???re working in. They also often have several years experience in the area of work.

According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook, many people who have recently begun working in the field have a trade certificate, community college diploma or a university degree. One example of the type of education a production supervisor might have is a two-year community college degree in mechanical engineering technology.

"If you look at the new people coming into the business, half of them are business-related individuals: they've got a degree in commerce, for example," says Rob Scheel. He's a production supervisor.
