The website for the American Fitness Professionals and Associates says that yoga instructors working for themselves in can earn between $25 to $45 per hour, and that some instructors earn over $1,000 per week working from their own home gyms.

Yoga instructors working for a fitness club may receive employee benefits and a free membership. They may be asked to sell club memberships, recruit new members or sell other products, gaining a percentage of the generated profits. Instructors may have to pay rental fees or give a percentage of their earnings to the club.

"Yoga is a hot product in America today," says Megan McCarver. She's a yoga instructor from California. "As the trends change, the marketing of yoga will follow. However, the purity will remain the same."
