There are many auction schools that offer programs and certification. Auctioneer Perry Wiggins suggests you get in touch with the state organization and ask for some literature on the career.

The National Auctioneers Association has information on the industry in general. Rules and regulations about education differ according to your region.

As an auctioneer, you can continue your education in the field by completing the Auction Marketing Institute's certified auctioneer or accredited auctioneer real estate (AARE) programs. You get the designation CAI or AARE after your name, as well as an opportunity to become a member of the Auction Marketing Institute.
