Insider Info

Additional Information

Introduce yourself to agriculture. Some schools give science credit for completion of upper-level tasks with farming organizations.

Most agricultural educators recommend a science degree in a well-rounded agricultural field, and then electives in a particular field -- aquaculture or human ecology, for instance. Master's degrees command higher starting salaries, and your chances are better if you pursue a specialized field.

Extra Requirements

Voluntary certification is available from the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS).
