Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You throw out the group therapy option, knowing the way it can weaken the client-counselor one-on-one relationship.

Maintaining your client's sessions and avoiding the easy way out have some very positive long-term effects. After a couple more months of therapy, she comes to grips with her present body image and shows no sign of returning to her former ways.

"I don't know," she says to you, "I guess I no longer see the need to keep feeling sorry for myself. I think your being here for me through it all has been good. If you think I'm worth the time, I must be worth it. Thank you for helping me to see that."
