Real-Life Decision Making

You've just been to a runway show and are excited about the fashions for the upcoming season. Gone are the long skirts of yesterday. Miniskirts and short hemlines are in. In addition, silky semi-transparent materials in bright, bright colors for tops and leggings are also in.

You've done some socio-economic studies that predict that people are ready for these new hemlines and bright colors. Your opinion is that these fashions will be a sure hit with consumers.

You can't wait to get back to the office to begin calling clients and telling them your predictions. Several of your clients' stores are aimed at the teen market, and you're sure those designs will sell like hotcakes.

A few of your clients' stores, however, cater to high-powered businesswomen. Looking through your surveys, you find that people in business still don't think they can wear short hemlines and bright semi-transparent clothing to work.

However, designers at the show told you that times have changed. Women don't want to be locked into wearing power suits. Should you just rely on facts and statistics or go with the buzz surrounding the new trends?

What do you do?
