Water Well Service Technician

Real-Life Activities

Real-Life Decision Making

You are a water well service technician. You are drilling for water at Mr. Humphrey's house. You have researched the area and discovered the best spot to look for water. He watches carefully as you begin to drill.

You dig. Not too far down, you find water. This is just as you expected. You do some tests and plug numbers into a formula. You find that this water source will provide enough water for the entire household. The drilling is done.

You expect Mr. Humphrey to be pleased. But he isn't. "How can you be done so quickly?" he asks. "That doesn't sound like enough water. You've got to keep drilling. We need more water than that."

You are the expert, and know that there is ample water for Mr. Humphrey and his family. It costs money to drill. Plus, you don't know who else is using this water. On the other hand, Mr. Humphrey hired you for this job, and you want to keep him happy.

What do you do?
