Real-Life Decision Making

Your client has ordered a large shipment of magazines and books from Canada in order to stock the shelves for the grand opening of her store. She is excited about the gala event, which will take place in one week.

Unfortunately, you have the job of bearing bad news. Although you did everything you could, it seems that customs has stopped the shipment of books at the border, pending further investigation.

You speak with a customs agent, fill out the additional needed forms, and pay additional money. You tell them you need the shipment as soon as possible. They say they understand, and will try to work quickly. But they have no firm date on when the books will be released.

Your client is distraught. "You have to call them again!" she says. "Tell them they can't do this to me. I have a bookstore to open! What if I don't get the books on time? I'll be ruined!"

You feel badly for your client. After all, she is counting on you to help her.

What do you do?
