Your job is to design maps for the government. You need to create a new map from a starting base map. The starting base map is at the scale of 1:2 million. It's on a piece of paper that measures 28 inches by 40 inches.

The new map must fit on a piece of paper 21 inches wide.

  1. What will be the scale of the new map?
  2. The map is going to have 1 horizontal fold and 2 vertical folds. How wide must the rack be that will hold the map?
