Real-Life Decision Making

One of the toughest decisions a pilot makes is whether to take off after considering the risks. Experts agree, however, that if a pilot weighed all the risks they would never leave the ground.

You and your co-pilot are doing a visual inspection of your plane before take-off. Your co-pilot alerts you to a small instrument malfunction in the cockpit. It's not an important instrument, just a meter.

You could call maintenance and have them check the problem, or have the instrument looked at when you reach New York.

It's nearing take-off time and this could prove to be a big holdup. You absolutely have to be in New York before morning. What do you do?
