Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You comply with the doctor's request.

You fix up the car for the doctor, even the passenger side mirror, and the car looks as good as new. You complete all the documentation required for insurance reimbursement. You hope the insurance company will never find out.

A few weeks later, an insurance investigator calls your office and asks to speak to you. Over the phone, he questions you about the side mirror that was included in your charges. You insist the damaged mirror was associated with the accident. You later find out the inspector had detailed pictures of the doctor's car taken before the car arrived in your shop. Within a week, your referral designation is taken away. Now your shop is facing fraud charges.
