Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You hold out for another couple of weeks, hoping that the market will pick up.

Although this is your first assignment and you may be worried about the reaction, you are a trained professional. It is your job to give them the truth, good or bad.

It was their decision to invest a lot of money in this product, but it has to be your decision to be up front with them. Waiting it out with hopes that it will get better will only end up costing them more money. This is the last thing they want. And the last thing you want is to jeopardize your career by not doing your job properly.

"In this field, the easy answer isn't always there," says industrial psychologist Charles Balog. "Making the right decision is a matter of character and it's up to you to dig deep for it."
