Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution
You try to fix the system even if it will cause a slight delay in departure time.
You decide to work on the entertainment system, but you need more help. You call your manager, and he immediately sends you a few more helpers from the hanger. You have to lift up the carpet to get to the wires.
You fix the problem, but unfortunately you cause a five-minute delay in departure time. After you complete your work, you go back to the hangar to work on the rest of the stuff.
One month later, your manager walks up to you with a big grin on his face. He informs you that your airline has been ranked number one internationally by a world-class magazine. At the same time, he offers you a promotion as he notices that you have done exceptional work for the department.
Funny, he especially remembers the time you requested help to fix the entertainment system a month ago. Your manager compliments you by saying, "It is people like you who makes us who we are," and he shakes your hand to confirm your promotion next week.
