Real-Life Communication

You are required to write a 250-word review on the movie Tsunami. You sat patiently through the two-hour movie and here are your notes:

  • Note: both the title of the film and the film itself are disasters.
  • Great acting by the lead character. He fit the role of a scientist perfectly and seemed to perform as best he could, considering the horrible writing.
  • The lead actress (and producer's daughter) was terrible. She spoke without expression and often caught the camera with her eye.
  • Except for the special effects, the movie was a real yawn.
  • The cinematography was acceptable, but not mind-blowing.
  • The soundtrack was the only saving grace, with the heavy bass beats there to wake you up during the movie.
  • Overall, the movie wasn't worth the money -- a definite "wait for the video" performance.

Film critics need to write in a clear and entertaining style. Bad writers need not apply.

"Obviously, if you're not someone who can communicate via the written word, you will be a terrible film critic," says film reviewer Dan Kois.

It's time to write your review.
