For centuries, librarians have struggled with the same question: how do I fit all the necessary information into my library? Today, that question might have two different parts: real shelf space and virtual shelf space.

You have been hired to help set up a library that will include both printed volumes and digital information.

You have 1.5 million volumes. Each volume requires two inches of shelf space. Each floor of the new library can hold 5,000 yards of shelf space.

You have 1.5 million bytes of digitized information. Each 1,500 bytes will require one hard drive for easy access.

How many floors and how many hard drives will be required?
