Real-Life Communication

You have just received a contract to design a line of greeting cards for birthdays. The publishing house that contracted you loves your colorful and fun animal illustrations. They would like you to design three birthday cards for children. They would also like you to provide the verse that will be included in the card.

"Communication is extremely important, because you are creating a product that is all about communication! Greeting cards are there to help people communicate how they're feeling about someone else, so you need to understand how to relay that message with visuals and the words within the card," says Heather Castles. She's an illustrator and graphic designer.

You need to brainstorm. Think of five ideas that will match your animal illustrations to a fun verse for kids.
