Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You do the tattoo as your client has drawn it.

You explain to the client why you think the design they have brought in is not a good idea. Ultimately, however, as they still insist they want it, you decide that you are there to execute their vision.

There is a risk, however, in that your shop will become associated with these views if the person gets into legal trouble, or sends friends with the same views and design ideas to you. Your personal ethics and maintaining the integrity of your shop's work should take precedence when making these kinds of decisions.

"I draw the line at derogatory or inflaming remarks," says tattoo artist Pat Sinatra. "I don't do anything that's racist or sexist. I'm careful about not making a person a social target."
