Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You tell the producer that you must order the more expensive hair.

This is the real-life decision that Bruce Flemino would make.

"Taking the color out of the hair weakens the hair shaft," he says. "The hair will break easily if you comb it."

In addition, cheap dyes used on the hair fade quite rapidly. "If you use this method, you may need a new hairpiece in a few months," says Flemino.

For a production that is planning on having a long run, it might be cheaper in the long run to use the light-colored hair. "If you use the natural hair that's been sterilized, it will look smooth and last much longer."
