Real-Life Decision Making

Imagine you are a facility manager for a city recreation complex. Your maintenance manager tells you the pool needs a refit to repair the wear and tear from the past year. You don't have anyone on staff who can do this, so you start interviewing pool contractors.

The first person you interview is a young contractor with a new business. He's anxious for customers. His price is good and he says he can have the pool done in two weeks.

The second contractor you interview is more established and has done work for the city before. His price is much higher and he says it'll take him three weeks to do the job.

You're not sure you should take a chance on a rookie contractor. You wonder if you should hire the more experienced contractor and perhaps try out the rookie on a smaller job. Still, you'd love to have the job done ahead of time and under budget.

Which contractor are you going to hire?
