Real-Life Communication -- Solution

Try saying something like this:

When ceramic tile is applied to a mortar (or cement) base, the base has to be made of one-part cement mix and a portion of lime. The lime can't be more than a quarter of your whole mixture. The mixture should be spread over metal plaster supports or concrete or bricks. Your tiles should be thoroughly soaked and pressed into place to force the mortar between the cracks of the tiles.

"You have to work by the guidelines so you do things right the first time," says Bob Caccioni, a tile-setting foreman.
