Real-Life Decision Making

You've just signed up for a tournament in a city that is 1,000 miles away from your house. You want to save money on your trip, and you're not sure whether you should rent a car and drive the distance or pay more to fly there on a plane.

Because you have to take into account the unknown factor of how much your winnings (if any) will be, you must consider not only the distance to the tournament, but also how much your out-of-pocket expenses will be for travel.

Should you make it easier on yourself and fly, giving you more time to mentally prepare for the game, or should you try to save as much travel money as you can and drive the distance?

"One decision ALL professional bowlers must make is how they will travel, " says Diana Teeters, professional bowler. "By car, by van, by motorhome or by plane." Travel is an important element of this career, and you'll have to take into account the distance and cost involved for each and every tournament in which you bowl.

What do you do?
