Real-Life Decision Making

You're a telecommunications engineer working with a new client. You're working together to design a new cellular phone for the retail market.

You've completed most of the design decisions without a hitch and now you're working on the visual interface, which is the part of the phone which displays the connection and has function buttons.

You've designed something you think will be impressive, with keys for each function. The result is a large interface with lots of buttons.

Your client doesn't like the design. For this particular market, he says, small is better. He points out that the functions of some keys could be combined with others to produce a less complicated-looking interface.

Your client is a marketing executive, so he knows the market, but you're the engineer, so you think you know what design will work best. What do you do?
