Real-Life Decision Making -- Solution

You remain firm on your usual fee.

Dressmaker Christine Ryan says she wouldn't do this in the beginning. She accepted less for her tailoring and dressmaking expertise to build her clientele. But now, having built a firm reputation and solid client list, Ryan says she isn't as quick to lower her fees so readily.

"When my business was new, I would almost always accept less per garment in order to guarantee more work. As my business and my clientele have grown, I no longer feel pressured to make concessions to ensure future orders."
