Insider Info

Sebastian Verrier is a sommelier in Miami. "There are not so many in the United States -- maybe 10 in Miami and 20 or 30 in all of Florida," he says.

"There are many new schools for sommeliers opening in America. Because of that training, there will be jobs for more in the future, I think," says Verrier.

Verrier says the income that a sommelier can expect to make depends somewhat on where they live. "I would say $30,000 to $80,000 in America. I make about $40,000 now, and I'll one day make about $70,000."

Earnings and employment information from the U.S. Department of Labor is not available for this field at this time.
