A young woman has made an appointment for a tattoo. She shows up with a very interesting Celtic design. It has a lot of swirling lines. The lines are all close together.

She wants the tattoo on the top of her foot. She likes the design a lot and it's obviously very significant to her. However, you immediately have some concerns.

First, you know from experience that when tattoos are put on feet, they tend to fade quickly. The woman will probably need to have the tattoo touched up every six months if she wants it to stay vivid. Normally, your shop will do touch ups of tattoos at no charge, but this doesn't apply to foot tattoos.

Second, when tattoos have lines that are close together, there is a good chance the lines will run together over time.

Third, light colors will fade more quickly than dark colors.

You need to share this information with your client, tactfully but firmly. Write down what you might say to her.
