Additional Information

Investment professionals usually require a college diploma or bachelor's degree in economics, commerce, business administration or a related field. An MBA is advised. Industry courses and experience are desired -- as are several years of experience in the business sector.

A science or engineering background is helpful -- even math, physics, biology or chemistry courses are a plus. Many venture capitalists work as management consultants prior to entering the field.
